In the early hours of a late winter morning, First Call Environmental was contacted by one of our partners to assist with tractor trailer fire with fuel release. Initial reports did not indicate the full scope of work that involved a truck fire underneath a bridge. The incident was on a major roadway causing a very significant traffic backup.

Crews arrived quickly and went to work on accessing the remaining fuel in the saddle tanks and deploying defensive measures to a fuel impacted ditch line. Due to the damage caused by the fire, the crew had to utilize an air drill to cold tap the tanks. With significant firefighting foam run off, First Call had dispatched a vac truck to the site. The vac truck made quick work of emptying the remaining fuel in the saddle tanks.

First Call then went to work clearing the fuel and foam from the ditch line. Crews deployed fresh absorbent boom in trenches along the ditch line to catch any future run off.

A fast response, the correct equipment and an efficient process resulted in another customer receiving the First Call Difference. Contact us today to see how we can show you our consistent approach to every environmental need.
