This month’s Project Spotlight is highlighting our Woodbridge, NJ office! Area Manager, Jinmi Dare, and Technicians Kyle Herzig, Johnathan Johnson, and Donavan Ruiz responded to a chemical release at a facility in Pennsylvania. The release was due to a leak from a 10,000-gallon tank. Upon the teams arrival approximately 2,000 gallons of sodium hypochlorite had released into a containment area. After arriving on scene, our team held a safety tailgate meeting, donned proper PPE,  then began pumping the spilled product into totes and a frac tank. Once the tank was emptied, they neutralized the containment area, rinsed it with water, and properly collected and contained all impacted sorbents.

A few days later, the team returned to perform a scheduled rinse-out of the frac tank used during the initial response. Following another safety meeting, they set up confined space entry equipment and entered the tank to complete the cleaning process. The tank was triple rinsed and the team verified safe pH levels. They then performed a final rinse, and vacuumed out the remaining water into poly drums. All generated waste was properly packaged for final disposal.

Great job to our Woodbridge, NJ crew on all their hard work and another safe and successful clean up!
