Foundation Spotsylvania Golf Tournament on June 18, 2021. The proceeds from this year’s event will allow the VFCF to continue the well-established Scholarship program. Since its inception over $235K has been awarded to help first responders and/or immediate family members further their education through college, Virginia Fire Officer Academy VFOA) , Virginia Chief Officer Academy VCOA) , attendance at the Virginia Fire Rescue Conference or other related training and education.

The morning started off with Chick-fil-A sandwiches, golfers checking in, and jokes being told. In commence of the opening ceremony, all the golfers were gathered for a putting contest and competed for a $500.00 reward. The winner donated the reward back to VFCF. Golfers made their way to their carts, and the game began.

Golfers came from all different counties and cities across Virginia with different backgrounds. We had the pleasure to meet Fire Chiefs, Captains, Police Chiefs, retired First Responders, and civilians from all areas. Good conversations and stories were had, and golfers were generous to teach one of our own how to swing.

First Call would like to thank the Virginia Fire Chiefs Foundation for allowing us to be part of such an amazing event and look forward to future endeavors.
