First Call Environmental responded to a pigment release that impacted a retention pond. Poor weather conditions and heavy rain resulted in quick migration of the released product. A vacuum truck was used to collect the standing product and the impacted water over the next few days. FCE overcame additional challenges when pressure washing product that had impacted the exterior building structure of the facility. The height of the roof required use of ropes for pressure washing access. During the wash process, FCE faced cold weather conditions, causing the roof to become very slippery. Despite the challenges, FCE successfully completed the response while ensuring safety first.
