Late in the afternoon on a busy Monday, First Call Environmental was contacted for a response to clean up a discharge from an overturned septic tanker along a busy NJ highway. The incident had been ongoing for several hours and the initial contractors that had been called were unable to respond with the proper equipment to handle the tasks needed.
With many ongoing projects, First Call Environmental was also in a situation where some of our equipment that would be needed to complete the tasks at hand were engaged on other projects. Knowing that some of the largest environmental companies in the area had already declined the project due to equipment and personnel issues, the First Call team sprang into action. Using our extensive list of potential subcontractors to support our staff personnel and in house equipment, First Call mobilized to the scene. For this project, multiple sweepers, a 5000 gallon vacuum tanker, an industrial wet/dry vacuum truck and roll off can were required in addition to technicians, operators and supervisors.
First Call arrived on scene and quickly went to work to flush drain and clean several tons of sand that had been placed on the roadway. First Call worked diligently to allow a reopening of the roadway while ensuring the requirements of Local and State officials were met.
First Call Environmental is alway prepared to go above and beyond in order to assist with the safe and effective mitigation of environmental incidents.
