Our March project spotlight highlights the efforts of our Bristol, VA office! This crew recently responded to a call of leaking lead acid batteries in a local cell phone tower. Lead acid is especially harmful as heavy metal is extremely corrosive and leaves a significant environmental impact if not handled properly. It can be especially dangerous to aquatic life and even life threatening if inhaled or ingested. Our crew went to work to neutralize the acid. Constant pH testing confirmed their neutralization efforts were successful, and the leaking batteries were able to be removed. Proper disposal of the batteries included a specialized recycling facility to ensure no further environmental impact occurred. Thank you to our Bristol Crew for their diligence and hard work!
