The first annual First Responders Appreciation Event took place Friday May 10th at Atlas 42 in Glen Allen, VA. It served as an opportunity for First Call Environmental to come together and cement the bonds that we share as public servants with the Brother and Sisterhood of the Emergency Response Community in the Metro Richmond area.

First Call Environmental hosted the event and partnered with The Hanover CREW Foundation. The goal was to raise funds to aid and assist the families of the four Hanover County firemen who were impacted by the tragic events of October 11, 2018 in Hanover County, Virginia.

With fun, respect and compassion on our minds, we set out to make a long- term difference in our local Metro Richmond community, and to bring light and awareness to a great cause. With the help and support of our community, we raised close to $15,000.00 to be given to the four families of the Hanover firemen.
This family friendly event, brought excitement with a surprise visit from Elsa herself, Nutzy the Squirrel from the Richmond Squirrels, games, face painting, and a bouncy house that set the stage for a good time for all. In addition, guests enjoyed live music, adult beverages and great food! There were door prizes and a silent auction was held featuring items such as autographed sports memorabilia, sports experiences, jewelry, and travel were also a part of the evening.

We would like to personally say thank you and give our utmost gratitude to our sponsors: Waste Management, Q Barbeque, Environmental Options, Bill Talley Ford, Air Water and Soil Laboratories, Union Bank and Green Tire and Auto.

This event was a success on so many levels. Raising awareness and appreciating the first responder network for everything that the men and women do for us all was fantastic, and raising money for a great cause and never forgetting the sacrifice that these four men gave was even better. Thank you to all who attended for making it an awesome night. We all at First Call Environmental look forward to seeing you again next year.
