A tote containing ferric acid was damaged during transport, spilling over 200 gallons of the corrosive liquid in parking and travel areas of a local business. First Call responders arrived onsite, assessed the situation, and began recovery and remediation operations. Ground surface depressions and uneven pavement contained the released liquid, localizing the spill to pavement and a small portion of outlying soil. The site was secured and liquids were neutralized, transferred into proper containers. Impacted impervious surfaces were pressure washed, and all rinse liquids recovered, and also neutralized as necessary, then solidified for transport and disposal as non-hazardous waste. Small areas of impacted soil were removed and denuded areas restored to pre-incident conditions. Another fine project completion by the First Call Team!! #spilllife #spillninja
