Environmental Response Technician

The environmental response technician is an entry level position that reports to the environmental response supervisor. In this capacity, the employee will work on a rotational basis on emergency and scheduled projects in their assigned location. Environmental response technicians will be requested to travel on a regular basis to meet the needs of our client base.

The environmental response technician performs a wide range of tasks including, but not limited to: emergency spill cleanup, environmental remediation services, industrial cleaning, drum transportation and/or waste consolidation, in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Valid and clean drivers license
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instruction and assignments
  • Ability to work safely as part of an organized team
  • Ability to work in challenging or stressful conditions
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to pass a pre employment drug screening and criminal background check

Work Schedule

This is an hourly position that is scheduled to meet the needs of our client’s projects. Hours may fall outside of traditional work schedules and include overnight, weekend and/or holidays. Response Technicians are expected to be available 27/4 365 days a year, unless otherwise cleared and noted with their direct report Supervisors.

Environmental Response Supervisor

The environmental response Supervisor reports directly to the area manager. This position supervises the environmental response technicians on all projects including, but not limited to: emergency spill cleanup, environmental remediation services, industrial cleaning, drum transportation and/or waste consolidation, in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Valid and clean drivers license, CDL preferred
  • 3 years of verified supervisory experience in the environmental industry
  • Current OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER
  • Current OSHA 8 hour supervisor or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to supervise the safe production of 2-10 person work parties
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instruction and assignments
  • Ability to work safely as part of an organized team
  • Ability to work in challenging or stressful conditions
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to pass a pre employment drug screening and criminal background check

Regional Manager

The Regional Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient day to day operations of their assigned response services facility. In this capacity, the area manager will build and grow a team of competent response personnel to safely and effectively complete all assigned emergency and scheduled projects in compliance with company policies and procedures. The area manager reports to an assigned regional manager.

The Regional manager is responsible of managing all assigned equipment, facilities and personnel within their region in accordance with First Call operational guidelines. Assigned duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assure that their area managers and offices are fully operational per Corporate guidelines.
  • Assure all calls are answered and responded to with First Call Difference strictly followed.
  • Maintain operational readiness in Area locations through continual communications with Area Managers.
  • Marketing the offered services to existing and potential clients
  • Interacting with business and response agencies to build and maintain strong business relationships
  • Maintaining a listing of vendors for efficient delivery of required good and services as needed
  • Driving growth and progress in the region and on a company wide scale
  • Ensure that the Area Manager are completing tasks as assigned.
  • Ensure the Area Managers are adhering to the First Call Difference.

Requirements include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Valid and clean drivers license, CDL preferred
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Suites
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the local and corporate team
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instruction and assignments
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of safety standards
  • Ability to work in challenging or stressful conditions
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.

Work Schedule

This is a management level position that requires ownership mentality. Area managers are expected to maintain availability as required to dispatch and manage assigned projects. This position requires a minimum of three days per quarter travel for training and professional development as well as extended hours as needed to support emergency operations.

Area Manager

The Area Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient day to day operations of their assigned response services facility. In this capacity, the area manager will build and grow a team of competent response personnel to safely and effectively complete all assigned emergency and scheduled projects in compliance with company policies and procedures. The area manager reports to an assigned regional manager.

  • Building and maintain a viable roster in accordance with First Call standards
  • Ensuring the proper maintenance and operation of all assigned vehicles
  • Maintaining and reporting the facility inventory on a weekly basis

  • Interacting with local business and response agencies to build and maintain strong business relationships
  • Maintaining a listing of local vendors for efficient delivery of required good and services as needed
  • Maintaining continual communication with the assigned regional manager
  • Driving growth and progress in the local area and on a company wide scale

Equipment operator reports to the environmental response supervisor. In this capacity, the employee will work on a rotational basis on emergency and scheduled projects in their assigned location. Equipment operators will be requested to travel on a regular basis to meet the needs of our client base.

The equipment operator performs a wide range of tasks including, but not limited to: emergency spill cleanup, environmental remediation services, industrial cleaning, drum transportation and/or waste consolidation, in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Valid and clean drivers license, CDL preferred
  • 3 years verified operational experience on heavy equipment, including, but not limited to: Excavators, front end loaders, skid steer units and forklifts
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instruction and assignments
  • Ability to work safely as part of an organized team
  • Ability to work in challenging or stressful conditions
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to pass a pre employment drug screening and criminal background check

CDL Driver/Vacuum Unit Operator

The CDL Driver/Vacuum Unit Operator reports directly to the area manager, however, on projects, will have a reporting to the assigned project supervisor. In this capacity, the employee will work as assigned to safely and effectively maintain and operate assigned CDL vehicles and vacuum truck units. This includes, but is not limited to: daily upkeep and maintenance, operation to and on project sites, transportation to designated treatment and disposal facilities and proper documentation of utilization and contents in accordance with First Call policies and DOT regulations.

Requirements include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Valid and commercial driver’s license, Class B with Tanker, Air Breaks and Hazmat endorsements. CDL A preferred.
  • Valid DOT medical clearance
  • 3 years verified safe operation of CDL vehicles INCLUDING vacuum truck units
  • Valid OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER
  • Current HM181 training or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instruction and assignments
  • Ability to work safely as part of an organized team
  • Ability to work in challenging or stressful conditions
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to pass a pre employment drug screening and criminal background check
