Our Chattanooga, TN office recently took on a tricky situation involving a 50-gallon diesel fuel release from a tractor trailer. Usually, our team can dig up impacted soil no problem but the location of this spill involved a culvert that would make it near impossible to dig around. After several discussions and a lot of strategic planning, our team deployed boom to protect the environment then decided to use bioremediation!
Bioremediation is a biological process that involves utilizing microscopic living organisms which eat away a pollutant. Our team started by taking samples of the impacted area then carefully dispersed the bioremediation. They returned to monitor the site and retrieve samples. After a few weeks, lab results confirmed that the diesel spill was no longer detectable and the soil in the area was clean.
Amazing work, Chattanooga office!
